Our Tradable Credit strategy invests in the non-investment grade credit market, particularly in secured bank loans, structured credit and high-yield securities.

This investment philosophy is executed in two strategies,

Our investment process is based on fundamental credit and economic analysis, risk classification and relative value assessment throughout an issuers capital structure.

Our objective is to provide investors with differentiated exposure to the leveraged finance markets, creating total return through a systematic approach to managing credit risk. We do this through various economic, credit and industry cycles.

Tenure of team working in leveraged credit industry.

Our Co-Heads have worked together for over 25 years, and are supported by highly experienced credit, portfolio management and risk management professionals, along with a seasoned group of analysts.

Proprietary LCAP Credit Scoring System.

Our quantitative framework, which provides information using cash flow modeling, credit and collateral scoring, risk management and information monitoring, generates differentiated views on credits and industries.

Our team has successfully managed CLOs in a variety of market environments since 1999, seeking to generate returns meaningfully in excess of unleveraged portfolios on an opportunistic basis for investors. Historically, we have managed twenty-five1 CLOs investing in bank loans and high-yield bonds, and currently manage twenty post-2009, 2.0 / 3.0, CLOs.

We manage various portfolio types in our Total Return Strategy, including Commingled Funds, Publicly listed Closed-End Funds, Sub Advisory Relationships and Separate Accounts. Our philosophy can be best described as an intensive, research-driven approach to credit investing, combined with pro-active trading.

Commingled Funds

Our long-only private fund offers institutional investors access to a broadly diversified portfolio, consisting primarily of bank loans. The fund generates interest income and price appreciation, with an eye toward capital preservation and does not employ leverage. It can accommodate both onshore and offshore institutional investors, and offers monthly liquidity.

Closed-End Funds

THL Credit is the advisor to THL Credit Senior Loan Fund (TSLF), a NYSE-listed closed-end fund designed for investors seeking income and preservation of capital primarily through investments in bank loans.

TSLF is designed to offer retail investors access to the total return bank loan investing expertise of our Tradable Credit team. It provides stable, attractive levels of current income through monthly distributions, with protection from the impact of rising interest rates.

Sub-Advisory Relationships

We partner with high-caliber investment advisers to deliver custom solutions for investors across multiple asset strategies. We seek to deliver differentiated access to the leveraged finance markets in both sole managed and multi-manager mandates, believing bank loans, structured credit and high yield securities can offer diversification and yield benefits when added to broader fixed-income portfolios.
